Spirit #4 – Outworking of a Complete Salvation

Workings of the Holy Spirit

In Noah’s time, “all flesh” had become corrupted; and so God planned to destroy all flesh “with the earth”—in this case a flood (Gen. 6:12-14 NKJV). However, Noah was a righteous man in all his generations! He walked with God and was perfect; thus, he found grace in God’s eyes. As a result, God made a provision to save Noah’s life—spirit, soul, and body (Gen. 6:8, 9 NKJV).

If Noah had ignored the word that was intended to save his life, would God later be obligated to save him? If Noah had faith for God’s plan, but did nothing except believe, would God have built the ark for Noah (James 2:17 NKJV)? God does not retract or delay his plan for fools. And neither does his Son. Ready or not, even Jesus will refuse to open a closed door for ill-prepared fools when the time comes (Matt. 25:11-13 NIV). Like Father, like Son.

Noah’s complete salvation depended upon his efforts—during his lifetime—to bring about God’s provision. Thus, he and his family were saved. Likewise, during our own end time “flood” of earthquakes, famines, outbreaks, economic global collapses, etc., we are required to work out our salvation (Gal. 5:24 NIV)—during our own lifetime—to bring about God’s provision of a complete salvation—spirit, soul, and body—for ourselves and our families.

Jesus made a complete salvation possible (2 Tim. 1:10); and his Spirit leads the way (2 Cor. 3:18). All we have to do is follow.
